About
The Ross Creek Landcare site runs along Ross Creek between Boundary Street and Queens Road in Hermit Park.
Site History
Weed control and native tree planting along Ross Creek started informally in the 1990s and continued off and on over the decades.
Early efforts gained momentum from the revegetation project across Queens Road in Bicentennial Park, launched in 2009 under the Federal Government’s Caring for Our Country Coastcare initiative.
Current work
Early plantings here now largely sustain themselves, leaving room for infill planting and a steady need to manage invasive weeds.
Ross Creek boasts a fresh, enthusiastic Site Leader and a small crew of eager volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome.
