CDTLI is holding its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Arcadian Surf Club Townsville, on Saturday the 29th November at 2:30 pm. Every year at the AGM the members of the residing committee must retire from office and a new management committee is elected. The existing committee members can renominate and be re-elected for another year.
Sitting on a management committee can be a very rewarding experience and great for your career development if you are still active in the workforce or a fantastic was to stay involved in the community when you retire.
The CDTLI Management committee consists of the following roles.

General Member – 5 positions available
At present the committee meets once a month at the Community Information Centre Flinders St, Townsville, for a 2-hour management meeting. At each meeting you will be expected to act in the best interest of the association, ensuring that the association complies with its rules and requirements of the Associations Incorporation Act.
The meetings are held face to face, however a Teams meeting option is available if you are unable to attend in person.
Everybody is very busy, and you will have lots of support from a great team. The Project Officer is available to help with administration tasks and the Treasurer has the added support of a Finance Officer who undertakes all day-to-day accounts for the organisation.
Electing the New Management Committee
Any member of the association (over the age of 18) is eligible to be elected to the management committee as long as a few important steps are followed.
- The candidate must be nominated by 2 members of the association.
- The nomination must be received by the Secretary, in writing, 7 days prior to the AGM.
- If at the start of the AGM, there are not enough candidates, then nominations may be taken from the floor.
