Occurrence
A local plant of open forest, beach scrub and areas near frontal dunes. Can occur in disturbed roadside areas.
Commonly found on sandy soils with good drainage and part-shade or full sun. Very tolerant of salt spray and dryness. Can provide a groundcover ‘carpet’ for rockeries and bush themed gardens.
Appearance
An erect shrub (0.3-1m) or spreading ground-cover with trifoliate leaves. Heads of pink (sometimes white) ‘pea’ flowers lead to clusters of flat, oval (~5mm) seed pods.
Floral display can be very attractive in good seasons. Flowers attract bees & other insects.
